My changes
First of all, I am grateful to the teachers and students who helped me during my time in the UK, I really feel that I have gained a lot. I would also like to thank all those who have read my blogs and I hope they have been of value to you. In the meantime, I think these blogs have been a good testimony to the changes I have made. In the first semester, I was new to blogging, but through constant reading and writing I gradually came to understand it.
At the beginning, as an environmental design student, I was unfamiliar with urban design, and I had many confusing and difficult moments, but whenever I did, I would try to find my own shortcomings in other people’s blogs and learn what others did well. I will pay more attention to the roads, the function of the buildings, the impact of the surrounding environment and other factors that need to be considered when designing than I did in my first semester. I have also learnt that urban design is different for different sites and different people. I am grateful to the blog for documenting this valuable journey.
Possibilities
In all honesty, I understand that my writing skills are still very much lacking, but I do my best to convey something that might be useful to the people reading the blog when I create it. In the future, I will try to improve my writing skills and work harder to understand the British culture to incorporate into my designs as I feel that every country or city should be unique and if I want to design well I should understand the sites that need to be designed.
Thanks to regular blogging, I can review and look critically at my arguments and designs very well. I can recall my initial ideas and also share interesting knowledge about the design process, and I would be honoured if I could be of some help.
Learning priorities
During this term, I have been designing with a greater focus on the link between mental health and green spaces and multi-age green communities. I have found many theoretical underpinnings to support the design through reading the literature and have become increasingly aware of the importance of urban design to a city. Whether it is mental health or multi-age communities, the essence is for people to live a happy and healthy life, because only when everyone is happy can we build a vibrant city.
Looking forward
The second semester blogging experiences were more focused compared to the first semester as they were combined with design and learning, it was more like a repository for my design thinking and I hope I can stick to the good habit of blogging, it really allows me to think about reviewing my ideas and the information I get while writing. At the same time, I would be happy if I could give some useful information to the people who read these blogs.
