Reflection and outlook
For the blog
Blogging for me, I treat it as a record of learning. The content of the blog is the result of reflection, and therefore provides me with more opportunities to think more thoroughly. Blogging is a process of accumulation. Blogging is not just about writing, I think about finding concepts, design ideas that I don’t understand. In the process, I find connections between the subjects I write about. Finding this information becomes a process of accumulating knowledge. At the same time, I am learning to identify knowledge through constant reading. What is useful and what is not worthy of attention. In addition, blogging has been very effective in improving my writing skills, helping me to improve my logical thinking and to express ideas using simple notes.
The comments on blog writing have also helped me to expand my mind or find like-minded people. I find the vast majority of comments on blogs to be very useful. It enriches the points that the writer has missed. And, I can identify with understanding the person by reading blog posts and as a form of communication. For what it’s worth, I think my blog writing is constantly improving, and as I learn, my thinking about the profession continues to deepen. The blog has documented my growth.
Review
In blogging, I think I have improved my writing. Secondly, the ideas from peer reviews have enriched my knowledge and generated a lot of discussion about these reviews. This is very useful and necessary. I have gained a lot of my own personal understanding of urban design through the writing of this blog. Although not always sensible, they are my own ideas. I can continue to practice and experience this in my own design projects. At the same time, I also make connections between my views and theirs in the comments. In addition, I have tried to write more reflections and quotations in this semester’s blog than the simple narrative summary of previous experience last semester. For accuracy in language, I try to improve the length of my sentences. It is easier for the reader to understand my writing. This is a great challenge for me. In fact, I think my writing level is low. But I think I have made progress compared to last term’s blog.
looking forward
For me, I can’t say for sure that I will blog again in the future. But reading, thinking, and documenting learning is something I will continue to do. At the moment, with the creation of more and more internet software and social media, blogging seems to be in an awkward position. But I think sharing and commenting is an important point. Perhaps when I return to my home country I will use social media to discuss my understanding of design and as a designer I hope to have a deeper exchange with my peers. As a member of my home country, I hope I can help build development through my own insights and understanding of the field.
