Looking back, and looking forward
Time flies and I have already spent two academic years in Newcastle A. I am very grateful to the teachers and classmates I have been surrounded by during my time in the UK. I have gained a lot and my teachers and classmates have helped me a lot and I am very grateful to them. I have written many blogs during this time. I think it is a very useful record, not only to show how my mind has changed during this time, but also to document the process.
In the first semester. I was still new to blogging. I was very unskilled in all aspects of blogging. But I am still learning how to write a blog. I think reading other people’s blogs is an important way to improve my blogging skills.
In the second semester, I started out with the intention of writing my blog in a better light. I will try to incorporate the new knowledge and design ideas I have learnt in my studies into my blog. At the same time, I was looking for information and thinking about it over and over again to further improve my design and expand my knowledge. In retrospect, there are still some areas where I have fallen short. For example, how can I make the blog look more interesting? And how to use more clear and detailed images. I think this is something I need to improve further.
At the same time, I learned a lot in the second semester in the course Housing Alternative Design. This course does not only require the design of the building. It is also important to consider the details of the interior of the building and how people use the building. It is also important to consider how multiple buildings work together and how the roads are connected. It is also important to consider the role of each road and whether they make sense, how the public spaces are designed and how the car parks are designed. Finally, the design constraints have to be taken into account. For example, the capacity of the population and the amount of parking and the amount of people that can be accommodated in the space. I had a lot of discussions with my classmates. During the discussions I was able to expand my design ideas and was reminded of things I hadn’t thought of before or had overlooked.
We are now working on our final design paper. We had to choose our own topic this time. I didn’t really have a good idea of what to choose or how to make it interesting at first. I got a lot of inspiration when writing the blog and communicating with my classmates. So I think that blogging is very helpful to generate new ideas.
In the end I think blogging is a very useful way to document my learning and design process. It is also a good way to improve myself. In addition to this, when communicating with lay people about design, it is more appropriate to do so in the form of a blog. It helps them to understand my ideas better. I should try to keep up this good habit in order to keep improving.
