RECONNECTING WITH MYSELF
THE BEGINNING
Hard to believe but its already the end of semester two. Still remember the first site visit of this semester which we went for the Housing alternative it was raining the whole day still we all were keen to go, and it went very well. Got to learn new things, explored the other side of the river. Being first timer dealing with contoured site I was way to scared to design or propose anything over the site but overcome my fear of contour while designing for this site.
Still feels like the first day after the break we coming to university in the beginning of semester two when we were told that we have to a housing project, the whole semester can be divided into two parts. The first half went quickly and then spring break started and after that second half started which went way to quicker then expected and as the site was on contour which still gives me chill but learned to deal with it and not to forget huge as well, still managed to design, dealt efficiently. Had our field trip to Staithes and Dunston. Which gave answers to most of my questions that I was having in my mind related to this module. Not to forget that it was raining on that day as well but still had fun.
AS MOVING FORWARD
The whole semester went like a roller coaster ride with dealing with the two projects simultaneously. Both the projects was way too different from each other, but still managed to do it. This semester’s blogging sessions were more enjoyable and educational than the last since time. In addition to requiring us to write in our own words, we also had to select the themes that piqued our interest.
The whole semester was about being creative and productive, as compared to the last semester. This semester learned new things starting with enhancing my software skills, which kept me motivated the whole semester. In addition to it this module has improved my writing skills a lot comparatively to last module. Also broaden my thinking and improved my way of looking the world in different way. Being an architect, I always found it difficult to think like an urban designer. As I think of it now that was the best part of my whole semester. Biggest lesson learned is to deal with my problems and started focusing on finding the solutions not on the problems.
