I have a background in Earth Science and graduated with a degree in Geography and Geology from the University of Glasgow in 1999. My career has incorporated outdoor and environmental education, countryside management, conservation, and working with young people and community groups. I completed a PGCE in 2005 and work part time as a teacher of Geography in an Inner city Secondary School in Newcastle. I am particularly interested in studying the interrelationships between humans and the natural components of cities and see Urban Design as an opportunity to sustainably improve the lives of people living in cities whilst improving the environment around us.
