Icebreaker

  • Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Heyan li. I from China Hebei. I grew up in a rapidly developing city, which sparked my interest in urban spaces and environmental improvement from a young age. Whenever I saw new buildings and public areas being created, I thought about how these designs impact people’s quality of life, mobility, and the surrounding environment. This curiosity led me to choose Environmental Design as my major in college. During my studies, I learned about space planning and landscape design, and I participated in several community projects. These experiences helped me understand the important role of design in improving living environments and enhancing community vitality.

  • Why I choose MAUD

As I progressed in my studies, I realized that focusing on single buildings or landscapes was not enough for me. I wanted to think on a broader level about the overall structure and planning of cities. Therefore, I decided to pursue Urban Design as my next step. I believe urban design goes beyond buildings and landscapes; it also addresses transportation, ecology, and social needs, providing comprehensive solutions for cities. I want to explore how to create harmonious and sustainable urban spaces that meet diverse community needs and make life more convenient for residents.

In my future studies, I look forward to using my knowledge to tackle today’s urban challenges, such as pollution, resource shortages, and lack of livability. I believe that good urban design can improve physical spaces while also building a healthy and vibrant city life. I hope to contribute to developing cities that enhance the quality of life for everyone.
