Towards betterment…..
For expressing my view on this I have to speak about my background. I have done my bachelor’s in architecture for 5 years. Worked for few months as an architect. But didn’t get to explore further due to the pandemic.Writing blogs is a very new thing for me. All i have written so far are some formal documents or concept statements. I never did something which is subjective yet describing my voice. This is process is very innovative and brain storming exercise especially for me. I dearly appreciate that Newcastle University started this so that students could explore this side of their creativity and create a form of expression for their thoughts.
Struggles:
Being in UK for the first time ever, had me confused about a lot of things professionally and personally. The style of design in England is completely different from what i had learn. The process of unlearning and relearning is a very difficult part of it. While adjusting to this process and maintaining the pace of the course for deadlines has been like a roller coaster ride for me. There are more moments of despair which i came over later. The usage of softwares or search engines like digimap or photoshop has been quite a difficult task.
Things learnt:
Glad that i went through this process. This refined me a lot in lots of aspects. The fun part about the process is the weekly blog meetings where we interacted and shared our thoughts and opinions. I have personally hosted one blog meeting and took blog minutes for few others. We noticed the problems in the websites, changed the schedules of blogs. Discussed among ourselves and Dylan our blog leader had been a great help throughout this process. The entire process made me take a look, more into every aspect of the lectures and question my understanding of the concepts.
Conclusion:
On a cheerful note, though i have made a lot of mistakes looking forward to betterment in the next semester. And hopefully stick to time management of the schedule and design. Achieveing a balance is what i am looking forward to. I will try to use more of the university’s social media platforms for spreading of our work.
